2010 Sessions
All girls will participate in campfires under the stars, hikes through this wondrous land of ours, creative nature crafts, outdoor cooking and water activities according to their specific session, making new friends and reuniting with old camp buddies.
Program for grades 2-3 as of 2/15/10
Brownie Delight 7/11-7/16/10 $300
This session is especially beneficial and exciting for first time campers. Girls learn traditional camp songs and gather around the fire telling Tajar Tales and going on pixie adventures throughout the week. Get into nature by exploring plants, rocks, trees, dirt, and all the wonders of Payette Lake.
ECO-Explorers 7/18-7/23/10 $300
Girls learn to care and share with nature and their fellow campers by exploring the natural habitats of plants and animals while understanding what it means to be stewards of the earth. By taking nature hikes, boat rides and cooking outdoors, girls will learn how to work with others to leave a minimal impact on natural environments. Gathering supplies from nature, Eco-Explorers will create works of art to hang in their log cabins.
Little Adventurers 8/1-8/6/10 $300
At this session girls explore and discover their natural environment with the safety and encouragement of our enthusiastic counselors. Campers get in touch with their outdoor adventurous side learning how to read and follow a camp map and use trail signs to get around. Make a splash in all the water activities of Payette Lake!
Program for grades 4-5 as of 2/15/10
Just for Juniors 7/11-7/16/10 $300
Girls connect with their outdoor surroundings hiking and learning orienteering skills as they find their way through camp using compasses, maps, and traditional trail markers. Planting seeds with fellow campers and understanding how to care for the earth will help preserve CAP! Challenges will include learning how to build an A-frame fire, tie a clove hitch, and pass a jack knife.
Night Owls 7/11-7/16/10 or 8/8-8/13/10 $300
Spend days swimming and taking nature hikes learning orienteering techniques. When everybody else goes to sleep girls will stargaze, take night hikes, and go polar bear swimming! Tell stories and sing around the fire with fellow campers!
Sail and Ski 7/18-7/23/10 $300
All hands on deck!!! Get experience on the water by learning new skills and gaining interest in sailing, water skiing, and other fun water activities. Girls will learn how weather conditions, safety precautions, and water patterns effect their wet’n’wild good time!!!
In the Spotlight 8/1-8/6/10 $300
Girls work with colorful counselors to create a script, dance, and song for their own outdoor performance! Using the natural world to make props, make-up, and prepare set designs girls will use their resources wisely to put on an amazing show for everyone at CAP!
Program for grades 6-8 as of 2/15/10
Uniquely You 7/11-7/16/10 $300
Campers spend time discovering their own natural beauty in the great outdoors! Laugh with friends, discuss making healthy choices, and reflect on experiences through journaling! Girls will start the day with yoga, have Girl Scout’s Own experiences, and make naturally derived beauty products! Leave this session feeling refreshed and confident!
Wind and Water 7/18-7/23/10 $300
Ahoy Matey!!! Become a master of wind and water by increasing skills in sailing, water skiing, and other fun water activities. Girls will learn to navigate the lake, spot landmarks, and gain a better understanding of how weather conditions, safety precautions, and water patterns affect their sailing experience!
Wild Water Adventure 8/1-8/6/10 $400
This exciting camp session is an assortment of fun water adventures including, wakeboarding/waterskiing, swimming, canoeing and funyaking. Learn the mysteries of the lake by exploring and studying its water ecology and wildlife. Try your hand at weather watching, emergency preparedness, and water safety. And to top it off, get some time on the river white water rafting!
Survivor 8/8-8/13/10 $300
It’s your planet…Love it! Search and identify CAP’s plants and animals while learning how to help preserve their natural habitats. Take nature hikes, build shelters and participate in obstacle courses. Cooking by the fire, girls will learn what is safe to eat off the land.
Programs for grades 9-12 as of 2/15/10
Finding Phifanella 7/18-7/23/10 $300
Help solve a mystery in Sherwood Forrest by using orienteering skills to find Phifanella! Work with fellow campers to create a nature scavenger hunt for all girls at camp that gets them excited about their planet…love it!! Take your camp craft skills to a higher level learning advanced techniques in Leave No Trace ethics!
Leadership (Counselor in Training) Camp 8/1-8/13/10 $450
This specially designed program is not just for counselors in training, but for girls interested in developing strong leadership skills! In this program you will learn how to cultivate strong group dynamics, plan and take part in adventure activities and learn how to develop and lead camp programs. Increase your communication and problem solving skills and understand what it takes to be a strong leader!
Specialty sessions for grades 2-12 as of 2/15/10 (Family camp is for all ages)
Mom and Me 7/9-7/11/10 $100/person
Bring your most special adult lady (must be at least 18 years old) and come to camp for a weekend of summer fun. Participate in outdoor games, nature hikes and explore Payette Lake. Meals provided.
Dad and Me 7/23-7/25/10 $100/person
Bring your dad, uncle, grandpa or your most special male guardian (must be at least 18 years old) and enjoy all CAP has to offer. Participate in fun outdoor games, nature hikes, and spend time exploring Payette Lake! Meals provided.
Core Camp 7/25-7/30/10 $200/person (6 days)
Would you like your entire troop to go camping together, but not ready to be on your own? Core Camp offers staff that manages waterfront activities. All other programs are the responsibility of the troop. All girls and adults attending Core Camp must be registered Girl Scouts. Meals provided.
Family Camp 8/6-8/8/10 $100/person
For families and other groups of all ages welcome. Enjoy CAP’s waterfront activities and spend quality time in the great outdoors. Bring your bikes, take some hikes, jump in the lake or fly your kites. Meals provided.
